Same-day Service for Diabetes Management

Diabetes can be tough to manage. It can take time to find the right blend of lifestyle changes and medicines to control your blood sugar. We’re here to help.

Our team works directly with Leon’s urgent care centers to offer fast treatment for diabetes complications. When needed, we offer same-day appointments with an endocrinologist.

Conditions We Treat

Your endocrine system is made up of glands that produce hormones. These hormones control many things, including how your body uses sugar and how it stores and uses fat. At Leon, we treat many common and complex endocrine system problems, including:

  • Diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2)
  • Obesity
  • Osteoporosis
  • Adrenal and pituitary disorders
  • Parathyroid and Thyroid disorders
  • Thyroid cancer

Diabetes Education

We want you to feel confident about managing your diabetes. Leon nutritionists and diabetes educators can work with  you to better:

  • Use a blood sugar monitor (glucometer)
  • Balance diet and portions
  • Manage your diabetes overall
  • Manage your insulin pump

Advanced Care for Osteoporosis

Changes in your endocrine system can contribute to osteoporosis (weak or brittle bones). If you develop osteoporosis, you’re at greater risk for fractures. That’s why it’s important to stay on top of your bone health. You can do that easily at Leon Medical Centers.

At Leon Medical Centers, we’ll use noninvasive DEXA scans, a type of X-ray, to learn your risk for osteoporosis. If you’re diagnosed with osteoporosis, you’ll have access to appropriate treatments which may include oral or injectable therapy to the latest treatments, including the newest injectable to build or preserve bone mass.

You can also take advantage of Leon’s Healthy Living Centers. Our Healthy Living Centers offer exercise classes which can include yoga and tai chi to improve your strength and balance. If you need it, you’ll also have access to our fall prevention program to help you avoid falls and prevent fractures.

Obesity Medicine

Losing weight can be hard. At Leon, our nutritionists will help you develop a diet and meal plan that works for you. We also have an endocrinologist who is board-certified in obesity medicine.

If obesity surgery is right for you, we’ll coordinate your care with your surgeon and assist you before and after your procedure.

Thyroid Cancer Care

Getting a cancer diagnosis of any kind is scary. The good news is, most thyroid cancers are easily treated and cured. If you have thyroid cancer, let us help.

Our endocrinology team performs all thyroid biopsies onsite. This means faster test results for you. Our doctors will review your diagnosis and explain your choices for cancer treatments. That way, you can make the decision that’s best for you. If you need to see other specialists, we’ll coordinate those appointments and drive you there as well.

One Place for Care

You can expect seamless care at Leon Medical Centers.

Our endocrinology team and urgent care centers share the same electronic health record. This helps our team work better together on your plan of care. Your record may be accessible if you need care while traveling to another city, state or country.
