Removing Barriers to Hepatitis C Treatment
Hepatitis C is one of the most common hepatitis viruses. If it’s not treated, it can lead to liver damage and even liver cancer.
The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and the Infectious Diseases Society of America have released new guidelines for the treatment of hepatitis C infection.
Hepatitis C medicines can be expensive. If you qualify for hepatitis C treatment, we will work with you to make sure you have the resources you need to get your medicines.
Cancer Prevention and Care
Your digestive health is important to living a happy, healthy life. That’s why we encourage you to have regular screenings, which prevent many digestive conditions. It’s just one of the ways we partner with you to help you stay healthy.
The gastroenterologists and contracted specialists are trained to diagnose and monitor digestive conditions that have been linked to certain cancers. These include Barrett’s esophagus, hepatitis C and H. pylori bacterial infections.
One of the most preventable cancers that can affect the digestive system is colon cancer. The gastroenterologists and contracted specialists agree with recommendations for regular colon cancer screening for anyone over age 50. This screening — usually done through a test called a colonoscopy — can detect pre-cancerous polyps. If found, your doctor can usually remove polyps during the screening.
Colonoscopy screening is the gold standard for colon cancer prevention and detection. The screening test and its preparation have been greatly improved. To make sure our patients have the best possible experience, we offer:
- Low-volume (less treatment liquid) colonoscopy prep
- General anesthesia
- Water-immersion technique to reduce gas and bloating
- Free transportation to and from the procedure
We also offer noninvasive blood and stool tests if you’re not able to complete a colonoscopy under general anesthesia.
Integrated Cancer Care
It can be scary to be diagnosed with cancer. If you are faced with a cancer diagnosis, we’re here to help. Our medical expertise, human touch and soothing environment will give you peace of mind so you can focus on healing.
We work hand-in-hand with the oncologists, radiologists as well as contracted specialists and surgeon to offer coordinated cancer care. The doctors and contracted specialists will review your diagnosis and explain your choices before you have cancer treatment. That way, you can make the decision that’s best for you. If you need to see other specialists, we’ll coordinate those appointments.
