Oncology (Cancer)
When you’re a patient at Leon Medical Centers, we do everything we can to help you feel better, while making you feel special. We treat all types of cancers using the latest technology. But we don’t just treat your cancer. We treat you as a whole, vibrant person. You’ll feel the respect and kindness in every aspect of your care. Let this soothing environment give you peace of mind so that you can focus on healing.
All of the oncologists (doctors who treat cancer) and contracted specialists include board-certified and bilingual in English and Spanish. This makes it easier for you and your family to understand your diagnosis and treatment plan in the language that’s most natural to each of you.
If you choose, we’re happy to drive you to and from your appointment free of charge. It’s another small way we try to make your cancer care a little easier.
The Fastest Care After Diagnosis
It can be scary to be diagnosed with cancer. Every minute counts and we don’t want you to lose a precious second waiting to get better. That’s why we make sure you see the right doctor within one week. The time from your diagnosis to treatment is managed quickly at Leon Medical Centers, to provide the best health care possible.

Personalized Cancer Care
Taking care of you is a team effort at Leon Medical Centers. First, the doctors and contracted specialists will explain your choices before you have cancer treatment. Our nurses will also spend half an hour or longer with you to make sure you understand what to expect from chemotherapy and other treatments.
If you can’t make your copayments for medicines, our pharmacy department works with the oncology specialists to find help for you. We’ll help you sign up for assistance programs.
We are happy to take you to and from your doctor’s appointments. When you arrive, there’s always an employee there to greet you and escort you to the chemotherapy suite. When you’re finished, they will accompany you back to the van. Our customer service representatives will also help you walk wherever you need to go and can answer your questions.
Enjoy the Comforts of Home During Chemotherapy
Cozy up in warm, soft blanket. Play your favorite music or movies. Treat yourself to delicious snacks and drinks. These are just some of the comforts we offer while you’re getting chemotherapy. If there’s anything else we can do to help you be more comfortable or pass the time, please tell us. We’re happy to accommodate you however we can.
Palliative Care Team
When you’re diagnosed with cancer, the doctors and contracted specialists will do everything they can to make your life more comfortable. From Home Health to Durable Medical Equipment (DME), the team works together to make sure you have all the support and equipment you need at home.
Palliative care is often misunderstood. This care is aimed at easing pain, symptoms and offering emotional support to help improve your quality of life. It is helpful at many stages of many illnesses, and you can use palliative care along with curative cancer treatments. The Palliative Care Team and contracted specialists will help you find ways to be more comfortable at home and suggest changes you can make.
Palliative care can also be part of end-of-life care. If this is a decision you or a loved one is facing, our Palliative Care Team can visit your home to talk about your choices in person. This is not a decision to be made from a brochure. Let’s go through it all together. If you or a loved one needs hospice care, we can help you find that too.
